So if you don’t ever spend time with me and only “know” (of) me from facebook, then you probably think that all I do is attend fashion events to get photographed. Well, I hate to break it to you, but it’s not (psych!). Allow me to re-introduce myself as the fashion artist that I am. Today I will take you with me on a styling job Lydiëne and I recently did.
Over the last year we have done quite some shoots. And the benefit of that is that people start to know about it and talk about you as a stylist. Before you know it other people start calling you to work with them as well. That’s what happened in this case. We got a call if we could style the album artwork-shoot for Poliana Vieira, the music ambassador of

This was the first time we worked with an artist. Usually it’s just a fashion editorial and that is just awesome, because you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want (provided that the photographer agrees of course). In this case however, there was a real person who had a very outspoken opinion about what she liked and what she didn’t like.

People often think we can just magically pull beautiful clothes out of thin air. It don’t work like that babygirls of the world (so do not call us unless we have a minimum of 2 weeks to prepare, aaight!). I mean we can, if we have to, but we have other things to do besides this shoot for you as well and I can’t just drop it all like it’s hot or sum’. (This is the perfect moment to set the record straight; we work together as in neither one of us is assisting. We work by ourselves as well, but if we can we prefer to do it together. That's how we roll!) In the end we ended up working on this shoot an entire week, because everything from the amount of looks, to the type of looks, to the colours, to the date and locations of the shoot was a “work in progress”. But we made her look good though, if I may say so myself hahahaha (she really wanted a casual look, but we tried to throw in some glam here and there).

What really excites us is the moment that people recognise our beautiful work. There were 2 looks that we put her in that at first no one was feeling, except for Lydiëne and myself. Clearly we know what we’re doing, so we told them to just go ahead and shoot them anyways. As soon as they saw it on film they all pretty much turned around and loved it (DUUUUH).

The one thing that always sucks is the moment you get the images and you see that half your work is not even visible. And I understand that it’s all about the face and all, but we had some super dope shoes from Cuplé and I personally would have loved to see every single one of them on the shots. But oh well, that’s what you have to deal with in our industry.

So now you know, I do more than just rockin’ fresh sneakers and looking fly as a mother!
P.S.: Yes, you can book us too, but it’s gonna cost ya :p
